New Patients at Major Family Chiropractic
If you’ve ever gone to a social event where you didn’t know anyone, you know how uncomfortable that can make you feel. Our goal at Major Family Chiropractic is to eliminate every shred of apprehension and make you feel at home.
Your First Visit
When you come in my office on the first day plan to be in the office between 30 minutes to one hour, we try to stay as close to the schedule as possible.
If you have not had an opportunity to fill out the paperwork online, try to come a little earlier than your scheduled time in order to complete the paperwork. The paperwork gives me an overview of what you are experiencing, and a bit of the history, so try to be as accurate as possible.
When we take you back we will do an evaluation of your spine. In my office, we look at things a little differently than in a medical office. Little things like your posture, and how you walk can give me the clues that we need to focus on certain problem areas.
The evaluation that I do will give me an idea of what your needs are. It also gives you an opportunity to meet me and ask any questions that you may have about your condition or health in general.
The second visit is the time to get to work. I have already done my evaluation of your situation and will have put together a plan of action. The plan of action not only outlines what type of treatment to expect, but also an idea, from my experience of what you should expect from your body.
Everyone would like to have a magic wand waved over them and for all the problems to go away. With Chiropractic, sometimes it seems like magic, but we must also look at things from a perspective of reality, and little things like our jobs, and other stresses sometime play a role in the healing process. All of this will be discussed on the second visit.
After we have had the opportunity to get to know one another and I have an understanding of the issues that you are experiencing, the visits tend to flow quickly. A typical visit in our office is between 5 and 20 minutes depending on the therapies administered. Most patients will relay to me that it is the most relaxing time of the day for them. Some have even told me that it is the ONLY relaxing time of the day!
We try to be flexible with our established patients, and although we try to stick to the scheduled appointments, we can usually work an unexpected patient into the flow pretty easily. My staff and I have grown quite accustomed to working with people whose schedule must be flexible.
